Missouri National Guard honors FOX Sports Midwest

The Missouri National Guard honored FOX Sports Midwest with its Center of Influence Award in a pregame ceremony before Thursday's St. Louis Cardinals game. The award was given in appreciation of the network's 2011 This One's For You broadcast to troops overseas and its long-time support of the armed forces. It's awarded to distinguished supporters of National Guard units during deployment. 

In 2011, 165 soldiers in the 1138^th Transportation Company based at Jefferson Barracks were deployed to Afghanistan. FOX Sports Midwest featured the soldiers and their families during the This One’s For You telecast.

The award was presented by Major Jamie Melchert, who commanded the 1138th during deployment, to FOX Sports Midwest analyst Al Hrabosky, director Tom Mee, producer Brian McCann and marketing director David Pokorny.

The award presentation was featured in MLB.com's Cut 4 section and during Thursday's Cardinals telecast. It will hang in FOX Sports Midwest's broadcast booth at Busch Stadium.
