FOXSportsDetroit.com Web Traffic Spikes for Busy Weekend in Michigan Sports


  • 790% increase in unique visitors and 341% increase in overall page views for Friday, Feb. 24-Sunday, Feb. 26 compared to a typical weekend.

FOXSportsDetroit.com last weekend provided a prime example of how far the FSN regional networks' web content has come since launching in November 2010, dispatching reporters to a combination of games and events scattered among six cities in three states, including Michigan, Florida and Indiana.

FOX Sports Detroit Pulls Back the Curtain
on Tigers Telecast

When the Detroit Tigers returned from the All-Star break on July 15, fans were treated to a choice of telecasts.  Regular game coverage was provided on FOX Sports Detroit, while FOX Sports Detroit PLUS presented a unique live look how a Tigers telecast is put together and delivered into viewers' homes.The alternate telecast delivered a split screen presentation:  part game action (as seen on FS Detroit); part an inside view/explanation of what goes on in the production truck, the broadcast booth, at camera locations and from other positions pivotal to the final product.

Saturday, May 7 was a much-welcomed warm, sunny  afternoon throughout Michigan, a state still thawing out from a long winter.  It was the kind of day to work in the yard, plant a garden, go for a bike ride or other outdoor activities.  Staying inside to watch the Tigers-Blue Jays 4 pm game on FOX Sports Detroit might have been a secondary thought to many.  That is, until word began to spread that a near-perfect day could possibly become even more so, thanks to Tigers pitching ace Justin Verlander...

     This month, FOX Sports Detroit introduced two new female hosts -- the FOX Sports Detroit Girls -- who each day guide viewers through the outstanding lineup of live games and programming.
     These two new hosts -- Allison and Lauren -- are both Detroit natives with a love and passion for the city.  The FOX Sports Detroit Girls bring a fresh look and feel in the delivery of content on TV and digital platforms.
