FOX Sports Florida / Miami Marlins Fantasy Auction Raises Record-High $94,000

On Monday, August 13, the Miami Marlins game vs the Philadelphia Phillies set the stage for the 7th Annual Marlins Foundation FOX Sports Fantasy Broadcast Auction, which gave viewers the opportunity to bid on some amazing experiences online and through the broadcast. All proceeds from the signature event benefit the Miami Marlins Education Fund.


The auction, which was hosted by broadcasters Rich Waltz and Tommy Hutton from the popular Clevelander at Marlins Park, raised more than $94,280.*

“Each year we look forward to this marquee event, which supports these worthy causes in our community, and to raise that much on Monday is a tremendous achievement,” said Emmanuel Munoz, Miami Marlins Director of Broadcasting. “We’d like thank our partner FOX Sports Florida and the Marlins Community Foundation for another successful broadcast auction and helping us make a difference throughout South Florida.”

A combination of strategic marketing and PR efforts directly contributed to the successful night. Radio, OAP, in-game drops and digital OOH (pictured- top) were utilized, and the FOX Sports Florida Girls were featured on-air throughout the night  as they managed the auction board (right). Leveraged PR relationships netted successful pre-auction coverage in the Sun Sentinel and Palm Beach Post. in addition to social media support (below).













* = The Marlins are waiting on payment information for a few of the big board packages as well as the totals from the Tommy Bahama event sales. When factored into the auction, the total is expected to be the highest on record.
