Fox Sports Southwest closed out Black History Month on Monday with a live webcast of a compelling Town Hall Forum at Southern Methodist University to honor the legacy of SMU star wide receiver Jerry LeVias, the first black scholarship athlete in the Southwest Conference.

Over 200 SMU students, athletes, alumni, community leaders and administrators from Conference USA and the Big 12 Conference gathered to participate in the interactive forum webcast live on FoxSportsSouthwest.com.
FOX Sports Southwest assembled a distinguished panel of former and current SMU players, coaches, civic leaders and local media to discuss LeVias’ ground-breaking feat in 1966 and changes that have occurred in race relations since then.
The Forum included a special showing of FOX SportsSouthwest's award-winning "Jerry LeVias: A Marked Man" documentary chronicling LeVias’ struggles to integrate college football in the Southwest during an era of racial turbulence.
A lively and impactful Forum discussion moderated by FOX Sports Southwest announcer and SMU alum Dana Larson highlighted the evening.
The Town Hall Forum will be highlighted in an upcoming "Under The Lights" episode scheduled to air on FOX Sports Southwest this month.
FOX Sports Southwest also is working with McDonald's to fund a Black History Month Jerry LeVias scholarship.
