FOX Sports Florida Taps Into Social Media to Capture FanFests

Great example of using social media resources to create content around an event that is not being televised.

Fans turn out in record numbers for the recent Florida Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays annual FanFests and FOX Sports Florida/Sun Sports was there to capture content and make it available to fans.

As the exclusive regional TV home for both teams, FOX Sports Florida/Sun Sports had a large presence both on-site and online that day, with fans lining up to meet and greet their home team TV announcers.
In addition, the networks' production teams were on-hand gathering content for interviews and special features, which will be used in original programs and Marlins & Rays game telecasts produced by FOX Sports Florida & Sun Sports this season.

Rays pitcher J.P. Howell's wife, Heather Hennessy-Howell, has recently published a book, The Adventures of Dangles. The two read the story to children at the Rays FanFest and Sun Sports shared a Flip video interview with the couple on Facebook.
