With the Miami HEAT being crowned NBA champions for the 2nd time in
franchise history, it was only fitting for FOX’s Sun Sports to party on— Miami
style. On Monday, June 26, Sun
Sports culminated a historical championship season for the Miami HEAT by airing the Miami HEAT Championship Celebration victory parade.
- Less than 48 hours after the HEAT had been crowned champs, Sun Sports turned around two congratulatory on air promo spots focused on thanking the organization as a whole, as well as the team and fans on a historic season. In addition to these promos, a third spot was created focusing solely on tune in for the parade.
- OOH creative was put in place throughout South Florida congratulating the team (right)
- FOXSportsFlorida.com was the place to be for HEAT fans in the immediate aftermath. A parade tune-in announcement was posted to the site and quickly pushed out via social media.
- FOXSportsFlorida.com also streamed the celebration live with more than 28,000 viewers opting to watch online.
- The four hour live event peaked at a 1.32 household locally before finishing at a .74 for the day.
- Annilie and Jordana, the FOX Sports Florida Girls, were able to secure air time on stage (2:05 mark) during the celebration generating an amazing amount of exposure.
- Once the HEAT had made their way off stage, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade took a picture with the FOX Sports Florida Girls thanking them for their support this season.
