A lot of Padres fans in San Diego can't watch their home town baseball team because they have Time Warner Cable as a video provider.
To date, Time Warner Cable customers have missed approximately 61 Padres telecasts on FOX Sports San Diego because the company has made a choice not to carry the channel-- San Diego's first and only 24 / 7 regional sports network.
Well, consumers can make choices too. They can choose to take their business to a video provider that does offer FOX Sports San Diego and all 157 Padres telecasts this season.
This past weekend, FOX Sports San Diego teamed up with DIRECTV to help raise awareness of the satellite company's featured programming, including all locally televised Padres games. The companies shared a co-branded booth at the San Diego County Fair where reports indicate foot traffic was heavy and new business for DIRECTV was brisk.
The effort was part of a larger campaign that will begin to roll out soon to raise awareness for FOX Sports San Diego and the "choices" that Padres fans have to watch their favorite team.
Stay tuned.
