The auction raised nearly $80,000 and was a resounding joint
success between the team and RSN.
“Each year we look forward to raising money for these worthy
causes in our community,” said Larry McCabe, Tampa Bay Rays Senior Director of
Broadcasting. “We’d like thank our partner FOX’s Sun Sports for another
successful broadcast auction and helping us make a difference throughout
Tampa.”
In addition to radio, OAP, FOXSportsFlorida.com and OOH
billboards in the Tampa market (above), the auction was promoted via social
media (right). Twitter numbers continue to grow on the @SunSportsRays handle, thanks in
part to added exposure from new-to-twitter Rays talent @BarryLeBrock and fan favoriteTodd Kalas (@TampaBayTK). LeBrock and Kalas,
combined with Rays in-game / social media reporter Laura McKeeman
(@LauraMcKeeman) have engaged viewers all season long before, during and after
games. Since the beginning of the season, @SunSportsRays had added more than
1,000 followers recently eclipsing the 5,000 follower benchmark.
