One team that played at night has been the suddenly resurgent Kansas City Royals who have won 4 in a row, taking two games on the road from the team that had the best record, the Texas Rangers. On April 24th, the Royals were 11 games under .500 and had 3 wins to their credit. Since then, only the Orioles and Rays have a better record in MLB as the Royals have won 12 out of their last 18 games. The Royals have not dropped a series during that time, all while collecting wins against some of MLB’s highest paid teams – Tigers ranked 5th in payroll, Yankees (1st ), Red Sox (3rd ), White Sox (11th ), Rangers (6th). Tuesday’s win aired on FOX Sports Kansas City and earned a 5.0 HH Rtg. This is the 2nd highest rated game this month and marks the 8th time the Royals have achieved a 5.0 or greater this season. As a comparison, the Royals reached that benchmark a total of 11 times in 2009 and only 5 times in 2011, when that was their highest rated season on FOX Sports Kansas City with a 3.3. This season the Royals are averaging a 4.2 HH Rtg. through 32 games on FS Kansas City.
