FOX Sports Ohio & Cavs Promotions A Success

Two promotions were successful for FOX Sports Ohio and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
  • “Box Office Buyout” ticket promotion ran in six Cleveland Cavaliers games throughout the season, helping the team sell over 3,500 tickets.
  • “Viewer Appreciation Night” in-game giveaway promotion, presented by KIA Motors, saw a 17% increase in entries from last year.

During six select Cavs games, FOX Sports Ohio announced the “Box Office Buyout,” a Cavs ticket offer exclusively for viewers. While watching the game, fans learned of the ticket offer and were given instructions on how to take advantage it. Fans had to act fast, because it was an opportunity only available during the game telecast.

"We are very excited about the results from the 2012 FOX Sports Ohio Box Office Buyouts. We were able to move more than 3,500 seats this season over the course of the 6 games. The support by FSOhio had a direct impact on our ticket sales and became an important element in our single game sales campaign." - Nate Ferrall, Marketing Manager, Cleveland Cavaliers
For the third consecutive season, FOX Sports Ohio thanked Cavs fans at the end of the season with a “Viewer Appreciation Night,” presented by KIA Motors.

During the game on April 23, when the Cavs played the Grizzlies in Memphis, the FOX Sports Ohio Girls presented a prize each quarter. They then gave viewers a keyword and cue to enter to win via text or online.

Later that quarter, a winner was selected and announced.

This year’s “Viewer Appreciation Night” saw a 17% increase in viewer entries compared to last season.
