After-School All-Stars Flourishing with Help from FOX Sports Florida

With a pair of After-School All-Stars chapters in-state, FOX Sports Florida and FOX's Sun Sports have been busy this year proudly supporting and organizing events and opportunities in Orlando and South Florida for students of the program.

From 'Career Day' fields trips to the Fort Lauderdale office and studio, to on-air integration featuring Orlando Magic players, 2013 is off to a great start for the After-School All-Stars and FOX Sports relationship in Florida.

The FOX Sports Florida Girls were on hand at this year's After-School All-Stars South Florida SuperFest at Florida International University. Jordana and Annilie participated in the festivities throughout the day, which included more than 1,700 local middle school students, as well as appearances by Billy the Marlin of the Miami Marlins and the Miami HEAT dancers.

 On Monday, February 11, 2013, Orlando Magic guard's Jameer Nelson and Moe Harkless visited Jackson Middle School and their After-School All-Stars Orlando students. FOX Sports Florida's Brittny Krause was on hand to speak with Jameer and Moe about their experience with the program, which serves nearly 6,000 local students annually. This piece appeared on the Orlando Magic broadcast during the Magic's game against the Atlanta Hawks on February 13, 2013.

On Tuesday, February 26, 2013, FOX Sports Florida welcomed 22 After-School All-Stars South Florida students from local Lake Stevens Middle School to the Fort Lauderdale office and studio for the first of three planned 'Career Day' field trips. Students were able to speak with employees, former NBA player / current FOX Sports Florida Magic analyst Tony Battie and watch from behind the scenes as the Magic Live pregame show went on-air.
