FS Southwest, FS Houston score touchdown with Texas High School football state championships

* Nine Title games televised live

For the first-time ever all UIL Texas High School football state championship games were played at the same site. FOX Sports Southwest and FOX Sports Houston celebrated the three-day extravaganza played on one of the world's biggest stages with unprecedented coverage from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. The event attracted record crowds, featured 34 hours of live television coverage, and ended with a bizarre incident that garnered national attention on YouTube. 


Wall-to-wall coverage:

* Replays of classic Texas High School state championship games from past years.

Social Media:
To connect with and engage fans, FOX Sports Southwest implemented a social media strategy that integrated Facebook and Twiter converations into the telecasts:

* Facebook and Twitter updates before and after every game
* Fan Tweets and Facebook questions and comments read on-air
* On-air bug featuring special hashtag (#TXHSFB) to identify tweets



Online:
* Two 6-Man Classification title games streamed live on foxsportsouthwest.com & foxsportshouston.com  
* Video highlights & coaches interviews

Promotion/Marketing:
FOX Sports Southwest and FOX Sports Houston utilized relationships with local newspapers and radio stations in Dallas and Houston to create awareness and drive tune-in for Championship Week programming. Tactics included:

* 1/3 page ads including unique hashtag in the Dallas Morning News promoting each day's coverage.
* Radio spots and live reads on Dallas' No. 1 rated sports talk station KTCK The Ticket & three stations in Houston, including FOX Sports Radio affiliate KBME SportsTalk 790.
* Tune-in promo spots in Dallas Stars games and other prominent regional programming
* On-site FSSW tent supported by promotional street team with branded merchandise prizes


  







Coverage concluded with a bizarre incident that gained national attention when FOX Sports Southwest cameras captured a runaway golf cart breaking free and running over a group of people, including the winning coach, after the final championship. FOX Sports Southwest's video of the incident went viral and received over 1.5 million views on YouTube.
