* Viewership of ceremony helps FOX Sports Detroit to 2nd highest rating of Pistons season
Long before the piercings, tattoos and bizarre behavior, Dennis Rodman was known as a relentless rebounder, stifling defender and the energy source that fueled the Detroit Pistons to a championship at the outset of the "Bad Boys" era.
He came back to Detroit last Friday to be recognized as one of the legendary players in franchise history, leading to Monday's announcement that he has been selected to enter the Basketball Hall of Fame -- and FOX Sports Detroit's web and linear platforms were there to capture the moments.

Web coverage began with Rodman's pregame press conference and later included a story by Mike O'Hara, who covered the Pistons during Rodman's years with the team. O'Hara's story was elevated to an "Editor's Pick" by MSN.com.
Meanwhile, motorists were alerted to the Rodman story on a live headline feed on CBS Outdoor and Lamar Outdoor digital billboards throughout metro Detroit.
The jersey retirement ceremony occurred at halftime of the Pistons game against the Chicago Bulls, during which viewership peaked at a 5.0 HH rating in metro Detroit (approx. 94,500 households). The entire game telecast averaged a 3.0 rating, the second highest of a disappointing Pistons season.
Monday, April 4: The Rodman celebration tour continued when his selection to enter the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame was announced at the NCAA Final Four.
