Through collaboration with production, marketing, public relations and web support the auction exceeded expectations and raised over $219,000 for the national organization that facilitates programs for injured soldiers of the United States Armed Forces.
Event Planning:
Marketing & Public Relations reached out to team partners and sponsors requesting one-of-a-kind sports and entertainment packages for the auction. The response was overwhelming.
Fifteen packages were assembled. Among the most popular items donated were:

* Access to ride the FOX Sports Southwest Fan Express to a Rangers game along with 49 guests and meet Hall of Fame pitcher and Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan.
Running the Auction:
FOX Sports Southwest partnered with Bidding for Good and Greater Giving, leading online charity auction platforms, to help facilitate the event.
The Rangers Live pregame show was expanded to one-hour to begin the live auction and our Military Appreciation Night coverage. The telecast also featured pregame ceremonies the Rangers planned that night to honor the military.
FOX Sports Southwest Rangers Live anchor John Rhadigan hosted the auction and provided updates and a running tally of money raised throughout the night.
To give all fans a chance to contribute and participate in the auction, special FOX Sports Southwest Wounded Warrior dog tags were produced and made available for a $25 cash donation.
It proved to be one of the more popular items of the night. Requests for dog tags quickly exceeded the limited quantity produced.
A decision was made early in the auction to reorder more to keep with the demand. Over 2,800 dog tags were sold generating $70,125 to the auction total.
On-site activities included:
*FOX Sports Southwest Fan Express brought 56 soldiers from U.S. Army base Fort Hood. The commanding officer presented FOX Sports Southwest SVP/GM Jon Heidtke a certificate of appreciation for the support during the telecast.
*In-stadium PA announcements and jumbotron features of top packages were made once an inning.
*Limited number of dog tags were made available for donation/purchase at the Rangers Foundation Kiosk.
*FOX Sports Southwest Girls directed fans to the Captain Morgan Club to place their bids and inform fans of package contents.
