Late in the Florida high school football calendar last year, FOX Sports Florida launched Prep Zone via FOXSportsFlorida.com to modest numbers with a little more than a handful of streaming games available statewide.
Thanks in part to a full off-season of planning, an on-air-promotion campaign developed with Creative University- University of Florida students, leveraged PR relationships with FOX Sports Next (right) and a robust schedule featuring twice as many games, Prep Zone Florida is catching eyes and clicks throughout the sunshine state.
OAP & Marketing
In Fall 2011, FOX Sports Florida presented Creative U UF students with Prep Zone as the subject of their semester campaign. The winning team's tag line, "You'll forget they're in high school," and OAP spots (below) were developed for air to promote Prep Zone.
Marketing plans are in motion to expand the Creative U campaign to digital out of home billboards, movie theater advertising and more. The FOX Sports Florida Girls were on-site at Sun Life Stadium to help generate excitement and distribute Prep Zone branded premiums to fans for Prep Zone Florida's first South Florida Game of the Week.
PR
Through the first four games of the Prep Zone Florida season, targeted media outreach led to significant coverage and increased awareness throughout the state, including:
The Miami Herald
Orlando Sentinel
Tampa Bay Times
Tampa Tribune
Yard Barker
Gainesville Sun
Fort Lauderdale Online Magazine
FOX Sports Next UF
Digital & TV
According to Unica and SnappyTV reports, the first four games on Prep Zone Florida via FOXSportsFlorida.com welcomed nearly 2,000 total visitors with more than 16,000 video highlight start views generating over 8,000 impressions.
In addition to the aforementioned streams, three
games were selected as the FOX Sports National High School Football Game of the Week and
distributed to multiple markets across the nation on various regional sports
networks.
With 13 games scheduled for the remainder of the high school football season, FOX Sports Florida and FOX's Sun Sports aims to continue driving web and on-air traffic towards Prep Zone.
