FSKC celebrates All-Star Week with themed TV and web content

FOX Sports Kansas City celebrated the return of the All-Star Game to Kansas City with a baseball programming marathon, high-traffic web content and as a promotional partner of MLB All-Star events including the All-Star Charity 5K.

* FSKC acquired rights from MLB to the highlight film of the 1973 All-Star Game played in Kansas City, the 1989 All-Star Game featuring heroics from Royals outfielder Bo Jackson and the 2011 All-Star Game. It added FSKC and FSN baseball shows and replays of memorable Royals games to create the 50-hour Stars in KC programming marathon.
* FSKC also featured ASG content throughout the first half of the season.

* After the All-Star Break FSKC recapped the week with video of All-Star events and features in pregame -- including a mic'd up segment with Royals All-Star Billy Butler.

* FSKC live blogged during the Home Run derby and All-Star Game, capturing news, sights and sounds from Kauffman Stadium.
* Staffed by FSKC's Eric Luchetti and Jase Bandelow along with four writers and picked up by FOXSports.com and MSN, the blog helped boost FOXSportsKansasCity.com page views by 7000 percent over an average July day.
* Leading up to the game FOXSportsKansasCity.com published a series of All-Star Memories with former Royals.

* FSKC partnered with MLB to promote All-Star events, including the Fanfest and Charity 5K & Fun Run.
* FSKC analyst and former Royals All-Star Jeff Montgomery and FSKC reporter Nate Bukaty ran and organized fund-raising teams.
* FSKC talent hosted Royals and MLB events to commemorate donations to Operation Breakthrough and a baseball field renovation.
