FOXSportsWest.com Opens New Playbook for HS Football in SoCal

FOXSportsWest.com unveiled the highly anticipated PREP ZONE and PREP ZONE LIVE platforms last Friday, garnering over 20,000 combined page views and 16,000 SnappyTV views from 57 clipped highlights.

As the PREP ZONE rolls out across the regions, FOXSportsWest.com brought an especially unique perspective to Southern California by featuring four live streaming games plus an integrated host channel simultaneously. In total, 60 streamed games and 17 televised games will provide SoCal fans with more HS football coverage this season than ever before including:

- A diverse schedule featuring both powerhouses and lesser-known schools including Avalon High on Catalina Island

- Integrated host channel mirrors the look and feel of the NFL's Red Zone, providing fans with the best action of the night

- Additionally, a relaunched high school webpage, dedicated eNewsletter, marketing street team, social media engagement, cross promotion and media coverage enhanced the launch.

PREP ZONE
Leading the effort, FOXSportsWest.com's high school webpage was rebranded PREP ZONE with a different look/feel to prominently position written content, archived games, SnappyTV clips, sponsored elements and more.

PREP ZONE LIVE LAUNCHES

The "High School Spotlight Live" Pre-Game Show kicked-off the evening in the top-center screen. The half-hour show introduced the "PREP ZONE LIVE" streaming offering and set the stage for the evening's match-ups.

The integrated host channel
debuted immediately following the "High School Spotlight Live" pre-game show and took fans around the four streaming games to highlight the best action of the night.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The SnappyTV application launched in conjunction with PREP ZONE LIVE to provide fans with up-to-the-minute highlight clips that were easily share-able via email, Twitter and Facebook. SnappyTV also worked in conjunction with Phizzle to offer fans instantaneous highlights via their mobile phones.

FS West also engaged Mark Sanchez - a former Mission Viejo HS alum - on Twitter and Facebook along with multiple schools featured in the platform that evening.

CROSS-PROMOTION
In preparation for the launch, cross-promotional efforts featured on-screen tutorials and talent explanations across both Dodgers and Angels telecasts as well as the "CIFSS High School Game of the Week" on PRIME TICKET:

ON-AIR PROMOTION
The on-air promotional campaign began last week in heavy rotation with a quintessential chalkboard look targeting HS fans, parents and athletes alike.

PREP ZONE STREET TEAM
The PREP ZONE street team embarked on their first appearance of the season at Mission Viejo - the site of the first televised game - to educate fans on the PREP ZONE offering, take photos that could be shared virally and hand out PREP ZONE tshirts to lucky fans. The street team will continue their efforts on-site at each "Game of the Week" location.

DEDICATED eNEWSLETTER
Utilizing original content including, featured analysis, archived games, Twitter/Facebook comments, Scout.com rankings and more from FOXSportsWest.com, a PREP ZONE eBlast will be sent out twice per week including a weekly preview and a weekend recap to the FS West database of 95,000 and a CIF-SS school database of over 17,000.

INTERNAL EDUCATION

To educate FS West employees, drum up some added anticipation and have a little fun before the launch, a "Name that Employee" contest was instituted. A faux yearbook was created after employees submitted their best photos from the "glory days." For every submission, employees received an official FS West PREP ZONE t-shirt.
