· Over 250 adults, including many FOX Sports North employees, and 150 children were in attendance
Below is a complete outline of the FOX Sports North community relations initiative:
The “FOX Sports North All-Star Program”:
· Each month of the year, one boy and girl (ages 8-13) from each Club is chosen by Club leaders as a 'FOX Sports North All-Star'· The kids earn this honor by achieving success in five important categories: Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career; The Arts; Health and Life Skills; and Sports, Fitness, and Recreation.
· At the end of the year, all 'FOX Sports North Youth All-Stars' earn the opportunity to attend ‘Kids in the City’ and celebrate their achievements.
· For the past seven years, FOX Sports North has helped organize the sports-themed event and assist with securing the venue, (always a sports facility) acquiring team partner support and collecting auction items, etc.
o Numerous team partners, including the Minnesota Twins, Wild, Vikings, Timberwolves, Lynx and University of Minnesota all sponsor/attend the ‘Kids in the City’ event (mascots, players appearances, etc).
· FOX Sports North promotes the ‘Kids in the City’ event on-air and across all platforms prior to event, driving attendance for the event and awareness about the Clubs.· Twins sideline reporter, Robby Incmikoski emceed the event and assisted with on-air follow up reports.
An Effective Community Relations Campaign:
· The' FOX Sports North All-Star' program emphasizes character building and the idea that “hard work pays off.”
· ‘Kids in the City’ celebrates the accomplishments of kids who go above and beyond and strive to be 'All Stars.'
