The Orlando Magic opened up their regular season on FOX Sports Florida this weekend with a pair of home games. Also debuting this past weekend? The Magic Fan Express.
FOX Sports Florida proudly
launched the Fan Express in Orlando this weekend to rave reviews from not only participating
riders, but also, Magic executives.
“The
Fan Express has proven to be a great asset to our organization, by driving
incremental tickets sales opportunities, while also providing fans and partners
with a legendary experience,” said J.T. McWalters, Assistant Director of
Partnership Activation for the Orlando Magic.
“We
were able to sell 50 tickets to our first home game to a group of fans who live
an hour away from the Amway Center, all because they would be able to take
advantage of the Fan Express and for our second game, we transported 50 members
of the Patrick Air Force Base in Melbourne to and from the Amway Center to
participate in the annual Seats for Soldiers night," McWalters said. "Thanks to FOX Sports Florida for their partnership in providing
this opportunity for Magic fans."
With the FOX Sports Florida Girls (right) on hand for both the
maiden voyage on opening night and the Seats for Soldiers night, FOX Sports Florida
was proud to utilize the Magic Fan Express to transport a group of servicemen
in continuing support of our troops. The team donated more than 800 tickets to Sunday’s
Magic game for active and retired military personnel and their families.
In conjunction with production, the Magic Fan Express was rolled into the broadcast during the aforementioned Seats for Soldiers game during the first quarter.
The Magic Fan Express is tentatively scheduled to appear at half of Orlando's home games this season. After a successful opening weekend launch that saw the bus embraced by the team and fans alike, FOX Sports Florida can't wait to the hit the road again- Magic Fan Express style.
