Sun Sports, Orlando Magic Team Up to Raise $53,000 for Charity

Building upon successful traditions with team partners is always a great story, even more so when it's for a great cause.

The Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF) and Sun Sports/FOX Sports Florida teamed up for the third annual Broadcast Auction when the Magic hosted the Philadelphia 76ers on February 15, 2012.

Packages bid on during the auction included: All-Star “Once in A Lifetime” experience, game day experience with exclusive access to a post-game press conference, BE HISTORIC court-side tickets package, Meet the Magic package, Sun Sports/FOX Sports Florida game day experience, “Florida Sports Tour” courtesy of Sun Sports and FOX Sports Florida and a BE MAGIC ticket package.

When the final numbers were tallied, the broadcast raised $35,500, and with matching funds at .50 on the dollar provided by the McCormick Foundation, the auction raised a total of $53,250. All proceeds will benefit the OMYF.

From educational and arts programs to health programs focused on preventing childhood obesity, the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation is dedicated to nourishing the minds and bodies of children that need it most. FOX Sports Florida / Sun Sports commitment to making a difference locally with our team partners is a great example of how production elements can drive fundraising for a noble cause.
